Maurten Gel Mix 480

Maurten Gel Mix 480 is a carbohydrate fuel for endurance sport based on Hydrogel Technology. It contains 120 grams of carbohydrates when combined with 200 ml of water. A different hydrogel fueling format with a texture thicker than Drink Mix and looser than the Gel — Gel Mix 480 can be adjusted to personal taste by combining with Additions.

Designed for fueling with Gel Mix Flask 350 ml to carry in a running vest, waist belt, or back pocket — equipped with a SpeedFill™ cap for fast refills and a bite valve to consume easily.

What is Maurten Gel Mix?

Gel Mix 480 is a powder-based hydrogel fuel. Mixed with 200 ml of water, it produces a consistency thicker than Drink Mix and looser than Gel — a new format that sits between the two. One sachet contains 120 grams of carbohydrates. When it reaches the stomach, it converts to a true gel, encapsulating the carbohydrates and carrying them through to be absorbed and used as fuel.

How do I prepare Maurten Gel Mix 480?

The product is designed for 1 sachet per 200ml of water.
1- Use a Maurten Gel Mix Flask.
2- Fill the bottle with 200ml clean water (with up to 80 mg of calcium per liter of water).
3- If using Additions to personalize taste, add Addition first and shake.
4 - Slowly pour the sachet of Gel Mix into the bottle — on top of the water.
5- Shake vigorously until the Gel Mix 480 is fully dissolved in the water, with no lumps or residual mix at the bottom of the flask.  
6- Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes before consumption.

How is Gel Mix 480 different from Maurten gels?

Gel 100 and Gel 160 are ready-to-use sachets — no preparation needed. Gel Mix 480 is a powder that must be mixed with water and prepared in a soft flask before using. The consistency is different — looser than the sachet gels. The Hydrogel Technology is the same.

Athletes can use Additions with Gel Mix 480 to personalize the taste. Additions cannot be used with sachet gels.
